Because I’m sure you want to know about every person who impacts your child’s life, I want you to know a little bit about me. My journey has taken me from stay at home mom to adult student finishing a BS in Education to public school teacher. Along the way I earned a MS in Education. Life changes moved me on to be involved with children, families, and volunteers in a church setting. It was there that I became aware that many fast paced families are drowning in chaos and stress. And so my life as a professional organizer was born.
For a while I did only academic tutoring for students of variouis age levels, as I also began working in residential organizing, primarily with families. As I worked with parents, I listened to what they were saying about their children's lack of success in school, their children's difficulty being organized, and their children's homework struggles. I became very aware that kids of today don’t have the organizational skills needed today to be really successful in school even if he or she is very bright. Students today are stressed by their surroundings and the amount of schoolwork thrust on them, and parents don’t know how to help their kids organize and handle the load. I became aware that I have not only a passion, but also the skills of teaching and organization that can truly help these students become more successful in school through academic tutoring and by teaching both parent and child the organizing strategies and study skills so critical for student success. TOGETHER we can find real solutions for the real life needs of you and your child both in school today and in life beyond school.
It has become my mission to touch the lives of as many parents and students as I possibly can, both in my own geographic area and way beyond this area with the magic of understanding and using the organizational tools, time management skills, and study skills so necessary for the student to be and feel successful in the academic environment and beyond. I know that students with great effective listening skills, good study skills, the ability to organize thoughts, good time management, and good organizational skills are well on the path to success in school and in life. This program can be accomplished one on one in person. Even more importantly, it can be accomplished ONLINE using a platform such as Skype so that students all over the world can be touched. We can work together one on one with your student or in small groups of students at the same time.
Through the magic of the internet and technology I am now able to expand my passion to help students know what to do and how to get it done beyond Central Ohio. We can work together through our computer screens to teach these much needed organizational skills and study skills for students.
I am a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO & NAPO-Ohio) and adhere to their code of ethics.
